We welcome and support, so you achieve…

Lighthouse Middleton DIAL

However, we do also sell other mobility items which have been donated to us, with the costs of these going back in to support the work of the charity. Items available will vary depending upon the items donated to us.

Having access to a wheelchair, even for short periods can improve and enhance everyday life, they provide increased mobility and independence for the user and for carers, allow you to take part in normal everyday activities even though you may have reduced mobility.

A wheelchair can be a great benefit in helping with daily activities, or attending appointments, or going out for the day, and they provide both social and mental wellbeing benefits. See some examples below…

If you need any mobility aids then why not call in and see if we have any of the items you want in stock. Our prices are modest, and you will definitely save money over specialist disability suppliers. This is part of our support to the local community.

The Lighthouse Project took over the work of the former local disability charity known as Middleton Dial in 2022. DIAL had been co-located with us since 2012.

Lighthouse Middleton DIAL keeps the name whilst recognising its new form. The service specialises in offering the short-term us of wheelchairs, be this for one-day, a few days, or several weeks.

We accept donations of mobility items that are no longer required, and are then able to offer these for sale at a low cost, with all proceeds go back into the work of our parent charity Inspire Middleton.

What else do we have on offer?

We sometimes have used rollators, and disability aids for sale

Subject to stock you can buy used walking aids from us, e.g. 3-wheel Tri-Walkers, or 4-wheel rollators, walking sticks and aluminium crutches.

We tend to sell these items rather than loan them as this is more cost effective.
