Middleton MDC – Have Your Say

"Middleton Cooperating are looking to hear from as many people as possible, people who live here now, and people who have lived here in the past and still have a connection with the town."

Have Your say on Middleton’s Future – join the conversation

If you’ve not heard, there is a  Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC) coming to Middleton, meaning that huge changes and regeneration could be on its way to the town centre, which is a good thing.

Another way of looking at it is to say that “Midd’ Town Centre is going to get a refurb…”

But before all that gets going one of our partner groups, Middleton Co-operating, want to connect with as many people as possible right across the town, to have conversations, and gather together ideas, about how ‘We’ would like our town centre to look?

This will make sure we get something we want, and not just someone else’s off-the-shelf idea.

The first thing to say is that this is a Conversation, not a Consultation.

“Middleton Cooperating are looking to hear from as many people as possible, people who live here now, and people who have lived here in the past and still have a connection with the town.”

Between now and the end of March 2026 there will be opportunity for you to have face to face conversation across Middleton to gather your views, or you can complete a short survey asking for your input to shape how the future of the town centre develops – nothing is set in stone, and we are open to ideas and input.

They say that the survey will take you 5-10 minutes to fill in, but realistically, if you want to add in your own idea into the mix it will take you a bit longer than this – don’t be put off, this is a valuable piece of work and we’d definitely encourage you to spend some time contributing to the town’s future.

Once the ideas and notes from the various conversations and online survey have been gathered in Middleton Co-operating will report back to the MDC, who will then consider the results, along with yous stories and opinions, when making decisions on development in our town.

As with all of these things, if we don’t speak now we may miss out on our chance to influence the decisions that are going to be made.

So, this is an important time in our town’s rich history. Please encourage every Middletonian you know to fill out the survey and have a conversation when they crop up.

The start of the survey look a bit like this...
