Slimming World inspires Foodbank Support

One of our members responded to the Foodbank's call-to-action when they asked for help for more food.

Slimming World call to action sparks food donation

Jeanie Logan: As a slimming world consultant we are individual self employed business owners! As consultants we are a team!

Last week Elizabeth Henshall-Dunne who is my member and a consultant running the Slimming World group based at the Lighthouse Project, popped a message in our group explaining how their Middleton Central Foodbank needed help due to a decrease in donations. It is running low on food stocks used to help others in need!

Then, in response to the ‘call-to-action’ one of my amazing members Netty Whitaker and her work Yearsley food LTD generously arranged and delivered £700 worth of food to the Lighthouse Project yesterday to help support the food bank!

So you see team work is the dream work, and the dream work helps others that need help!

Well done all involved I do love what I do with cracking team mates!

The Lighthouse Project and Middleton Central Foodbank are part of local charity Inspire Middleton which raises all its own funding through grants and donations. The help of groups and organisations like Slimming World and Yearsley Foods is just the type of thing that we need – are you able to donate and invest in helping us tackling poverty and building a better community?
