Can you help donate to our 2024 Toy Appeal?
We are collecting NEW toys to support families that we are working with who will struggle this year to be able to afford toys for their children.
We are asking if you could help with donations for all ages, from new born up to 16 yrs of age, for both boys and girls.
Why we do what we do...
Through our work with the Lighthouse Pantry, Middleton Central Foodbank, and Lighthouse Money Advice service we have supported over 1,700 families in the last year (to March 24), and we know that many families in our area are struggling to make ends meet.
The cost-of-living-crisis continues to impact lots of people hindering their ability to cover the essentials of daily life let alone the upcoming additional pressures of Christmas. Christmas should is a special time of year – which is why we run our Toy Appeal.
Christmas is a wonderful time of year, but for many of the families it can be a difficult time with the extra weights and worries that the demands of Christmas bring, especially for families with children. We need your support to help us to reduce those burdens which is why we are appealing to you for donations to this campaign .
Your donation of new toys will directly help a child in need, and all children and families will have been referred to us through local support services, a local school, or our own projects.
Any cash donations will be used to purchase targeted toys, games or gift vouchers for children aged between 0-16 years so that no-one misses out or feels second best. We know that all donations are appreciated especially where a child may have requested a particular toy that has not been physically donated.
We are looking to raise £750 towards buying toys or gifts that don’t come through direct toy donations.
Thank you for supporting our community, and helping us ensure that fewer children in Middleton will be without Christmas presents this year.
Be a local toy collection point
If you would like to arrange your own toy collections on our behalf, reaching out to your family, friends, work and social connections, you can download our editable 2024 Toy Appeal Poster using the link below.
You can then collect in your office, workplace, community, and then bring the toys to us at the Lighthouse Project before 9th December 2024.
