Tesco Winter Collection Volunteers needed 2023
Every winter Middleton Central Foodbank is helped greatly by the generous donations that come in from the annual Tesco Winter Food collection. This is 3-days of in-store collections at Tesco Extra in the town centre at the end of November and start of December (30th Nov – 2nd Dec 2023).
We are currently recruiting teams of volunteers who can work in 2-3 hour shifts to greet customers and hand out shopping list leaflets, and also assist looking after the in-store Foodbank drop-off point where the donations will be received and packed for taking back to the Foodbank at the end of each day.
We are aiming for a minimum of three people per shift, ideally 4.
We have to cover the time between 9am – 5pm for each day, Thurs 30th Nov, Friday 1st Dec & Saturday 2nd Dec, so we are aiming for a minimum of three people per shift, ideally 4, to be available at any one time. Shifts are typically for 2-3 hours at a time, not all day, unless you want to :-)
Perhaps a few people could come from your office, or workplace, group, or church to help us? Make it a team effort as part of a team building exercise, and discover the added rewards of volunteering together.
Your support will make a great difference to us, and this collection is quite significant in helping boost our stocks to meet the anticipated increased winter demands.
