Specsavers Supporting the Foodbank

In return for completing an online survey customers are entered into a prize draw and the staff buy an item of food for the foodbank, this is a great idea!

Creative ways of supporting our work and the Foodbank

Here is an amazing idea by the team at our local branch of Specsavers in Middleton Shopping Centre.

The store, which is located on the ground floor of the centre, have been encouraging customers to complete an online survey about their visit to the branch, and as an incentive for doing so they will be entered into a £1,000 prize draw, and the staff will purchase in item to be donated to Middleton Central Foodbank. This is such a great idea.

Thank you to all the team at Specsavers for doing this for the foodbank, and in turn for helping us to support those who are struggling in our community.

We picked up our first full basket of donations on Wednesday and we were overwhelmed with the amount of food received as a result of your generosity 😊

Every little helps us to feed many many family’s in Middleton and we appreciate all you do.

Up to March 23 Middleton Central Foodbank had given away 34 tonnes of food, which was 3.25 tonnes more that we have received in donations. All together that amounted to approx 80,000 meals given out within the Middleton community, and nearby neighbourhoods.

Clearly there is still a long way to go in alleviate poverty and the financial struggles that more and more families are facing, but for our part we are doing what we can to make lives easier. This is where our generous donors help us to do this – thank you.
