The work of the Lighthouse Project has been building, year-on-year, since we first opened our doors to the public in June 2010 – 10 years ago.
Since that time we have often wondered what is the extent of our reach and impact into the local community.
We know that we support lots of people, and currently record 30,000+ visits per year through the doors, which is quite some achievement from our modest 50 visits in the first week we opened!
But until recently we have not truly know how far and wide people have travelled to visit us, or to get support, but now we do, and we want to share this with you to demonstrate the power of a vision of local people wanting to make a difference in their home town.
If you click on this link – you will go to a new page where you can access an interactive Google Map which has been populated with postcode information to illustrate the reach of our work. We hope that you enjoy scrolling through the map and seeing where our local project has managed to make a difference in people’s lives – no personal information is shared.
This is a footprint of the reach of the Lighthouse Project, taken from the postcodes of our visitors January 2019 onward.
Feel free to ‘Zoom- in’ to see the expansion of the localities where we have been able to help and support people.
