Our popular receptionist and administrator Taz has recently taken leave of her role here at the Lighthouse Project after deciding that she wanted to emigrate to Toronto in Canada.
Taz was a popular and well liked member of the Lighthouse team and she will be sadly missed; one of her parting comments was “as soon as I get there I’m going to find somewhere just like the Lighthouse and do some volunteering”. We suggested that she could possibly be an international outlet for our work!
Taz first came to the Lighthouse as a visitor to find help and support with looking for work and re-building her confidence. She quickly fell in love with the place and offered her services as a volunteer, where she became a hit with the other visitors who often commented on her warm smile and encouraging ways. When we found ourselves able to take on a part-time member of staff for one of our projects Taz put herself forwards and was successful in being appointed.
We want to send our warm greetings and thoughts to you Taz, and to say thank you for all your hard work and enthusiasm for what we do here at the Lighthouse. You will be missed.
