Men in sheds turn their hand to making pens
As our Middleton Men’s Shed has been gaining momentum we recently bought ourselves a compact wood turning lathe, and with the help of John, a retired joiner and one of our shed members, he shared with us his love of wood turning and carving and as a result of this we have just started experimenting with making ourselves some lovely hand made pens.
Great as gifts, and they have such a good feel to them.
The Men in Shed’s group is still young but is growing, and it was set up with the intention of providing a variety of practical interest and activities that men could join in with or contribute to, which would give them an opportunity to make new friends and to share skills and experience with new people.
Our shed currently meets three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons between 2-4pm.
If this is something that you might be interested in then please come along, have a look round and see if you’d like to get involved.
This is a simple invitation more than a sales pitch!
