Middleton Shopping Centre raises funds for Lighthouse Project

Families visiting Middleton Shopping Centre’s Christmas Grotto during December 2017 donated a staggering £2,790.08 from their visits in the run up to Christmas.

On the 23rd January, Lynette Howgate, our Centre Manager, had the pleasure of presenting a cheque to the charity.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to all the Middleton families that visited our Santa’s Grotto and generously donated their cash,” says Lynette, “Almost everyone we talked to was aware of the brilliant charity work The Lighthouse Project carry out locally and were more than happy to play their part in supporting this endeavour.”

The Lighthouse Project is a part of Inspire Middleton – a local charity. The vision of the Lighthouse Project is to provide a safe and welcoming environment where people can meet together, find support and access opportunities that are caring, social and educational.

Carl Roach, Development Manager, of the Lighthouse Project say, “we are really grateful for this donation and we are always touched by the generosity of Middleton people, we will be using the money to fit-out a new kitchen where we plan to offer free cookery and healthy eating classes to people.”

We want to say a huge ‘well done’ to the team!
