Cake sale to raise funds for people suffering from brain tumours.
Two sweet -toothed sisters are planning a bake sale this Saturday 24th March between 11:30am – 4:00pm at the Lighthouse Project.
Daisy and Poppy who regularly visit the Lighthouse Project every month for ‘Who let the dads out’ hope to raise hundreds of pounds for brain tumour awareness month.
They have decided to hold the event after their grandad Barry Stevens was diagnosed with a brain tumour last September. Barry has had some treatment to try and beat the cancer but medics have told him they can’t operate any further and he is currently being given palliative care.
Mum Louise said, ‘The girls know their grandad is very ill and they just want to do something to help him and people like him’. March is brain tumour awareness week and so this sparked an idea for raising some funds by holding a bake sale.
A team of friends has been drafted in for the day, and even if people can only pop-in for 20 minutes during the day for a quick cake and cup of tea we’d really appreciate the support.
